About the Workshop
To perform at the highest level as a dentist, it is essential to stay updated with the latest technologies and treatment methods.
During this workshop dentists will be introduced to the wide range of clinical applications of diode lasers and their advantages in modern dentistry.
Participants will discover how laser technology can simplify treatments, improve healing, and expand possibilities across multiple dental disciplines.
The course focuses on simple, efficient and scientifically supported techniques that can be implemented directly in daily practice.
Our goal is to help dentists improve clinical confidence, reduce procedural complexity and elevate patient care.
What You Will Learn
During this training you will learn:
• Understand the biophysical properties of laser light
• Recognize how different laser wavelengths interact with oral tissues
• Select the correct diode laser settings for each procedure
• Apply lasers in oral surgery, implantology, oral medicine and orthodontics
• Use lasers in endodontics and pulp therapy (pediatric dentistry)
• Improve periodontal treatments with laser technology
• Perform prosthetic and aesthetic procedures using lasers
• Apply laser-assisted whitening techniques
• Work safely according to laser safety protocols
• Pre-clinical training in models to practice and try different wavelengths/lasers in different tissue-types

About Miguel R. Martins
Workshops are led by Dr. Miguel Rodrigues Martins.
Miguel R. Martins graduated as a dentist in Porto, Portugal in 2007 and specialized in Oral Implantology at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain in 2008.
In 2010 he completed a Master of Science in Lasers in Dentistry at RWTH Aachen University (Germany).
In 2014 he obtained his PhD in Lasers in Endodontics from the University of Porto.
Since 2014 he has been practicing as a dentist and endodontologist in the Netherlands and is an internationally recognized speaker in laser dentistry.
He lectures for organizations such as:
• International Society for Lasers in Dentistry
• World Clinical Laser Institute
He is also affiliated with AALZ – Sigmund Freud University Vienna as a researcher and lecturer and serves as Vice-President of the Portuguese Society for Medical Lasers.
